CVRx's Barostim is the first medical technology approved by the FDA that uses neuromodulation - the power of the brain and nervous system - to improve the symptoms of patients with systolic heart failure. Barostim works by electrically activating carotid baroreceptors and, in turn, the baroreflex. This signals the autonomic nervous system to regulate heart, kidney and vascular function through both sympathetic and parasympathetic pathways.
