Sarfez is a cardio-renal products specialty company focused on developing therapies to treat heart failure and chronic kidney disease. It has recently launched "SOAANZ®”, a novel torsemide formulation, to treat edema in HF or CKD patients.
Loop diuretics are one of the most prescribed drugs to patients with HF and CKD. However, they cause profound and excessive diuresis, often leading to bladder problems, such as urgency and urgency-incontinence, especially in elderly patients.
Since SOAANZ® releases the drug slowly and reduces peak urination, it may help patients who experience worsening of bladder problems with the use of a generic loop diuretic.
