International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research
The International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research (ISCTR) provides an environment for collaboration and guidance among scientists, expedites scientific discoveries into clinical application, disseminates the science among the scientific community, promotes research and develops guidelines for training and certification in translational research. In our five years, we have held four annual symposiums with presentations from world-class experts, launched a new journal (Journal of Cardiovascular Translational Research) and just awarded the Cardiovascular Translational Research Scholarship. This is the first cardiovascular scholarship of its kind in the U.S., intended to train a new generation of cardiovascular translational researchers. This program will be offered in collaboration by the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research and the American College of Cardiology Foundation. The program will enable the scholar to expedite scientific discovery to clinical application, ultimately benefitting the patient and society by providing science earlier and decreasing the developmental costs related to new devices and/or novel biologic therapies.
