Advocate Health Care, the largest health care provider in Illinois emphasizes on (1) highest form of patient care, (2) education, and (3) research. Today simple congenital cardiac anomalies are being taken care of exceedingly well by means of cardiac surgery or interventional procedures. We now have a growing number of patients with or without cardiac arrhythmias following surgical and/or non-surgical corrective procedures. Our heart exhibit, therefore, displays 24 heart specimens of varying types of atrial septal defects with or without cardiac surgery and their diagnoses with 3D echoes. Gloves will be provided for examining the heart specimens.The cardiology community, including students, is encouraged to examine the hearts. The author will be available for demonstration and discussion.
