Non-CME/CE Satellite Event Guidelines

The Non-CME/CE Satellite Event Guidelines are developed and enforced to create a level playing field for all exhibiting companies and to ensure that no organization is scheduling events that conflict with ACC education and events.

Only exhibitors at the ACC.10 Annual Scientific Session, and universities and non-profit organizations that are affiliated with or supported by exhibiting companies, may request permission to hold non-CME/CE satellite events from March 12, 2010, through March 16, 2010. These groups may schedule activities during ACC.10 and the i2 Summit according to type and time shown in the Non-CME/CE Satellite Event Schedule.

Please note: When ACC receives written notice that an exhibiting company is cancelling space, all non-CME/CE satellite event approvals, as well as badges, housing reservations and ExpoSuites, held by said company will be cancelled immediately. No exceptions will be granted.

Special attention will be paid to industry meetings and social events at ACC.10. Prior year approval for meetings and events does not automatically guarantee approval for a similar application at ACC.10. Non-CME/CE Satellite Event Guidelines will be enforced. Violations will immediately result in loss of ability to hold non-CME/CE satellite events at ACC.11. Events planned or occurring in violation of these guidelines will be subject to immediate cancellation or termination. ACC will not be responsible for expenses or losses resulting from the termination or cancellation of said programs.

Regardless of whether your non-CME/CE satellite event is being held in a hotel that is within or outside of the ACC block, or in any other venue, you must receive approval from ACC to hold the event, or your event will be considered to be in violation of the Non-CME/CE Satellite Event Guidelines. Companies whose events are not approved will have their events shut down; will lose all priority points that would have been earned for participation at ACC.10; and will not be permitted to hold events at future ACC Annual Scientific Sessions.

It is the responsibility of exhibitors to ensure adherence to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, policies, practices and guidelines, and all other applicable industry guidelines, concerning the discussion, demonstration, use and/or display of products, technologies, and/or services at the ACC.10 Annual Scientific Session Exposition and during non-CME/CE satellite events (see “Industry Guidelines,” page 30 of the ACC.10 Exhibit Prospectus, for more information).

IMPORTANT: Clinical Trial Embargo Rules

Exhibitors are reminded that clinical trial results are embargoed from being presented or announced in any forum until the time of the presentation at ACC.10 or the i2 Summit (see “Embargo Policies,” page 28 of the ACC.10 Exhibit Prospectus, for more information).

Presentation or discussion of scientific research results at satellite events or press conferences prior to the scheduled Annual Scientific Session scientific presentation is strictly forbidden. The only exceptions to this embargo rule are closed investigator meetings for participants in the trial. These meetings must be held at the Annual Scientific Session and may be held beginning March 12, 2010, through March 16, 2010, provided they are held during the designated time slots as outlined in the Non-CME/CE Satellite Event Guidelines and are approved through the Satellite Event Request Form approval process.

It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to know whether its trial is subject to the embargo regulation.
